Homemade Rice & Dal puree for babies

As all mothers know babies are given only mothers milk for six months. In addition to that if we feed this puree babies will become more healthy. This puree is very easy to digest and has no Side Effects. Babies can digest this food easily because of its smooth texture. Basically rice is the most common first foods given to babies all across the world rice can give more calories, carbohydrates, and proteins. Along with rice cereal, we can use toor dal and mung dal and cumin seeds. Dal is rich in protein and cumin seeds are good for digestion. So babies can digest solid food easily.

How to make this homemade rice and dal puree

:Ingredients:

  1. Rice                      – 2 cups
  2. Toor Dal               – 1 cup 
  3. Mung Dal             – 1/2 cup 
  4. Cumin seeds       – 1tea spoon
  5. Ghee                     – 1 table spoon

Preparation

                 The first step is to wash the rice and mung dal twice thoroughly. Drain the water completely by using a calendar spread the washed rice and dal on a clean dry cloth and leave to dry under air or fan dry for 30 to 40 minutes. Once they are completely dry we have to roast them. To roast the rice and dal place a  saucepan on medium heat, dry roast the ingredients on low flame and add the cumin seeds and roast for 5 to 7 minutes. Turn off the heat and let the Rice and ingredients cool completely, now place them in a clean mixer jar and grind into a fine powder. store in an airtight container. 

: How to cook:

          Take a saucepan and put it on heat, now add two spoons of prepared powder and required an amount of water is added. keep cooking on low flame for few minutes until the mixture becomes a smooth paste. For extra taste and health add a spoonful of homemade ghee to the paste and transfer to a serving bowl. Feed it warm to your baby, adjust the consistency of the puree by adding little water.
